So is this guy going to write to Steve Jobs every time he finds an iPad on eBay for $100 less than retail? How about 1� auctions?
If TJ Maxx got their hands on enough stock who the F cares and go pick one up if you want one! I'm personally waiting for Gen 2 with FaceTime.

I can imagine that Apple provides detailed specs to the manufacturers of the glass and that there is a bidding process involved. That means that any deviation from the provided specs after production will have to be corrected at the cost and time of the manufacturer, not Apple.
If this is actually the case, than the manufacturer can even be held accountable for the loss in sales.
More likely it was Apple's fault for specifying either a nearly unachievable spec or for giving a bad material specification.

This may only happen if they get rid of the consumer-quality GPS receiver in it. Would raise the price of the handset, though.
It's more than likely going to be the use of their own software (iMaps?) rather than use Google which has their own Mobile OS now.
iPhone GPS works great for me, even when I visit New York City.

Samsung know they are in trouble with the Apple suits, and rightly so. But instead of just defending the suit against them, they are making stuff up to get back at Apple.
What it is, is childish.
you really should go look up how it works before you start insulting us.
I was not talking crap. That little tid pit I put in about the filing only if getting pissed off and sued came form our resident patent lawyer on these boards who explain why many times you only see law suits after they get sued. They go into the file if sued by so and so bring these up.
That is why many of these patents are filed away and never really sued unless antoher company starts pissing you off or acting childish like Apple. It gives you more leverage to use against them in their lawsuit against you.
I do find it funny. Fanboys cheered when Apple sued Samsung but Samsung responds and now called Samsung childish.
Fanboys call Kodak pantint trolls when they sued apple.
Fanboys cheer when Apple sued Nokia but booed about Nokia sueing apple.

Yes im jailbroken and know how to shsh into my ipad. But from the looks of what i can find on google (not much) is that you have to be on 4.3.
I'm sure there is a way to SHSH this into 4.2.1 i just cant find anything on it.

I'd rather use photoshop on a laptop with a wacom tablet. But lightroom on the ipad-- theres an idea.

Making parts is one thing, we can all make parts, we can all go into our garage and make a random widget. We can make hundreds of those widgets.
But - here is the kicker -
We need someone to buy those widgets.
If no one buys the widgets, we can't make the widgets, and in this scenario Apple sell the widget to the end user. The game is with Apple, not the parts supplier.
Good luck making the parts Apple need in your garage.

My sisters upgrade is due and she has no desire for a new phone so she has kindly said she'll get an iPhone 4 for me for her free upgrade :). Going to wait til later this week for the white one as it looks so much better than the black too me.

I'd assume the 'other' category would be a mix of Lightworks, Media100, Premiere Pro and maybe even Sony Vegas. Mizzurah posted a link to the most recent version of the survey I was trying to recall and it has Avid at 76%, FCP at just under 20% and 'other' w/just under 5%.

Why do some posters put down peoples choices or even the fact that it exists in white?
So, if you don't like a white iphone, buy black. It's all good:-)
I like black, but my daughter likes white. When I asked why, she said it goes well with her white ipad and white MacBook, when they are all on her desk.
Sounds like as good a reason as any.
She has a 3GS off contract that is totally on it's last legs (broken glass replaced with plastic, battery empty mid-day), so her only decision is to wait out the next iphone or not.
Unfortunately she has never been able to wait for anything(despite me mentioning not to buy 1st gen Apple products), so she'll probably buy the ip4 in white.
I bet there are many people out there in the same situation.

apple says no, and i can confirm this on my new 2nd gen shuffle. there is a slight gap.
how big is a "slight" gap? well I guess I won't be getting one then because I don't see why I should buy an ipod that can't play back albums properly! my first gen shuffle was completely dead for the past two months until last week when the new utility brought it back, so I can't justify a new shuffle and will probably end up eventually getting one of the nanos (wish the 8GB one came in different colours including the project red version). And my first gen 10GB scroll wheel iPod is still working fine 4 1/2 years after I got it!

to those who switched online, can you confirm that i would need to select the anymobile option and unselect the unlimited text option, as the anymobile includes both? i wasnt to sure so i decided to cancel
