Lately we have been seeing, USCIS is asking for the proff of continious legal stay and one of the proof's is I-94.
Say, if one has not made copies of the past I-94's, is there a way we get them by writing a letter an agency ?

I am not well aware of what is to be done. But isn't it a good idea to mail USCIS explaining the situation and possible extension you may need. This keeps USCIS informed about your situation in advance.

Nope. My lawyer did a mistake to correct himself he applied though dates were not current.

did you get a letter from USCIS to your new address that they have received your address change request?
i changed my address back in last week of September and got the letter in mid october. i got two separte letter one addressed to me and one addressed to my wife. this letter will ensure that they have your new correct address on the file. you should get one letter for you and for each dependent. also, you should change addresses for each individuals (for you and dependent).
also keep in touch with your lawyer, they shall recieve one notice for FP alongwith you.
I called USCIS and created a new service request. Hope they will do it right this time.
My worry is if this is NOT FP notice, and something else, will it effect my application in anyway since I could not respond in a timely manner due to address change.

I thought about it again and think everyone has the right to post on forum as much as you. If IV does not like it, they will delete it. If you do not like a thread do not read it. Who is forcing you to read a thread? If you want to read something specific to your interest, there is a nice website I found recently. It is called 'Google'. - All your previous H1B which shows you were always in status
- Current H1B if applicable
- Letter from HR of current company stating that you are a full time employee if applicable
- Copy of 485 receipt notice if available
- Copy of 140 receipt notice if available
- Copy of Labour if available

Sorry I didnt make it clear about changing status to visitors visa. I am aware that it will not be an automatic switch.
I am wondering how difficult it is to switch to visitors visa status or to extend H1b for few months? Do people have high success rate or is it full of hassle (trying to extend stay on visitor/H1 status)?
ABIM board is an exam we take after finishing residency. I would prefer to finish it now immediately after residency.
I will try to meet up with an attorney in near future and discuss these issues, will be glad to share any new important info.

Well, doing it on my own isn't a problem. It's just that my employer is a behemoth and has ironclad policies.
Having said that, filing fees for EAD extension are $340 and for AP $305 per applicant, right?
Now I'll try my best to get EAD/AP extended either by me or the employer but if that doesn't happen (say my employer says it's our policy for you not to do it on your own), will a gap in EAD/AP create problems?

EAD/AP should be extended by you. I am surprised your employer is involved in this. You will need a copy of your 485 receipt notice.
Even if you are working on H-1b, it is much safer to pony up the money and keep your EAD renewed and available at all times. You never know when things change.

Planning to use AC21 Portability and work on EAD.
If the EAD reneval is applied and If it gets expired before we get the new EAD, can I work by having the EAD reneval receipt notice with out affecting the employment.

Not exactly correct. Once, he left the US for a long period of time (except vacation) the employer should remove him from US payroll and terminate the H1B. This is the very legal way. If employer want to receive employee's service outside the US, the employer should "outsource" the work to him. In this case, both the employee and employer must follow export-import rules between two countris and pay appropirate tax in both countries.
After employee left the US, if employer continously keeps him in US payroll using his H1B authorization for work eligibility, and receives his service or work from abord; it is the violation of LCA work place. If USCIS knows that the employer will be in trouble.

Since this is not concurrent filing, i think the fees will increase on July 30th.
I dont think 140 approval notice is manditory, in many cases employees do not have 140 approval notice because that is a property of employer and not employee, 485 receipt notice is fine.
